What I am snacking on ....
… my current obsession, radishes!
During the lock-down, I decided I should switch to a new snack that I could devour guilt-free but would give me the same crunch satisfaction as a freshly opened bag of Cape Cod chips. I was drawn to radishes, growing up as a kid my mother always had the fridge stocked during the season.
So I gravitated towards them, they are delicious, cold, and sliced with the perfect peppery tang. Taking it one step further I decided to grow my own, I picked up a bag of seeds, planted a row with two seeds in each planting, and within a few days they have sprouted.
Not only are they a delicious snack they are high on nutrients: Red radishes are packed with Vitamins E, A, C, B6, and K. Plus it’s high on antioxidants, fiber, zinc, potassium, phosphorous, magnesium, copper, calcium, iron, and manganese. And each of these is known to keep our body in good working condition.
I challenge you to give them a try and even grab a bag of seeds to grow your own.
